Sue Norris Founder and Operational Director
Sue Norris
Sue comes from a social care background. Sue has worked for the Disability Team, Children’s Services and Scheme Manager for 17 years with Home-Start RCT & Home-Start Cymru working closely with families, carers, volunteers and referrers.
She supported both parents and other family members through their cancer diagnosis and at the time felt she was completely lost and isolated.
With these feelings resonating, Sue with the help from family and close friends, founded Ray of Light Wales in 2009 to offer support by holding Groups and a Choir at Velindre Cancer Centre.
What began as a small initiative has grown over the years into a registered charity, reaching and supporting many more individuals and families affected by cancer.
As the Founder and Operational Director, Sue oversees the development and operational management of the Charity’s services, ensuring they continue to meet the evolving needs of the community.

As the Senior Project Co-Ordinator and Project Leader for Amser I Mi at Ray of Light Cancer Support, my role includes a wide range of responsibilities that revolve around providing comprehensive support and care to our community.
One of my key responsibilities is to ensure that I am present and engaged with our beneficiaries by attending all of our support groups. This commitment allows me to establish a strong connection with our beneficiaries, fostering trust, and providing a dependable source of support. In addition to my project leadership and co-ordination responsibilities, I volunteer weekly at our Warblers choir sessions.
