Resources & partners
Organisations we partner with
Macmillan Cancer Support
Ever since the group was set up, we have had very strong links with Macmillan Cancer Support and in fact have two volunteers who are trained to deliver the HOPE Programme. We are listed in the Macmillan Support Groups and also link to the Welfare Benefits team locally as well as signposting group members to their services and literature on a regular basis
We are fortunate enough to hold our Support Group, Arts & Crafts and our Choir the Ray of Light Warblers at Maggie’s Cardiff. To get free one-to-one help and information from their professional team or join groups and activities that are right for you
Wales Cancer Alliance
During the Covid-19 Pandemic the support we offered had to be adapted to provide our services remotely and liaised with Wales Cancer Alliance providing support remotely.
Velindre Cancer Centre
We have strong links with Velindre Cancer Centre where we held our monthly support groups and choir for Carers for 9 years. They have continued to support us and signpost our services.
We have particularly close working partnerships with Velindre and Maggie’s who provide pro bono venue support for our group meetings, in buildings which are easily accessible by our beneficiaries.
Across Wales there are 370,000 Carers, many don’t know where to get help. Carer’s Wales ensure that specific rights are being honoured for Carers. Download the Carer’s factsheet for a Care’s assessment. It’s an opportunity to look at the impact caring has on your life and what support services you need
Dewis Cymru provides information or advice about your well being and what’s available in your area, just put in your postcode at the site will tell you what is available
Something To Look Forward To
Francesca from Something to Look Forward To has very kindly provided a huge package of goodies to go with our care packs. Their charity improves the lives of families affected by cancer by giving them “something to look forward to”
Free support for those suffering hair loss as a result of cancer treatment.
